2017-2018 Non-Profit Grant RECIPIENT
Lakewood Women’s club proudly announces that
Gigi’s Playhouse Cleveland was awarded our 2017-2018 Non-Profit Grant. GiGi’s Playhouse Cleveland focuses on serving the nearly 900 individuals with Down syndrome in Northeast Ohio. They have a core set of programs to provide something for all age and developmental groups, from birth to adults. The programs offered focus on advancing self-esteem, literacy, math skills, social skills, muscle tone, speech, language and more, as well as fostering acceptance and networking resources for parents and siblings. All programs are volunteer-run by local therapists, educators, and community volunteers and are 100% free of charge. Gigi’s mission is to increase positive awareness of Down syndrome through educational programs, and by empowering individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community.
2017 Scholarship RECIPIENT
The 2017 LWC recipient is Caroline Saracina, a 2017 St. Joseph Academy graduate who has decided to select Social Work as her field because she was inspired by all of her volunteer work and service opportunities that she had throughout middle and high school.
